BG244 Diesel Engine Cleaner

Views ... anyone used it on their BMW ?

I have a can but haven't used it in my 330d LCI engine after a friend used some in his X6 3.0d and swore it made it slower !

It has good reviews on the net - but who uses it in a BMW ? Is it totally safe with the newer BMW diesel engines ?

Or has anyone used Archoil AR6400-D from the same people - is it any different ?

never heard of it. you shouldn't rally need to put cleaner in modern diesel fuel but I have to say I put some diesel redex in my 04 discovery from time to time and it always passes smoke test on mot and never smokes even when towing. other than that I only use normal diesel not the super stuff (TOO EXPENSIVE)

Used it in my previous E46 320d compact. While in the tank the mpg was showing 4 higher with the 400 mile commute to work that week (mostly cruise control on M5). The engine seemed to have a slight misfire on a cold morning when first started but run smoother after a tank with the additive.

Diesel engines have come on a little way since then so don't know about the E9X but can't see it doing any harm IMHO.

Well, Archoil 6400-D is in the tank ... 80 miles done and no issues. I don't expect to notice anything huge, but will keep an eye on the fuel consumption and see if in a couple of tanks it has improved.

My car has only done 23K but I have noticed mpg has gone down of late by about 4-5. Lets see if the additive helps - or it is just my right foot that is responsible for the decrease in mpg.

The cleaner has certainly not done anything adverse

I use millers additive with every tank

Made a good initial improvement to mpg

Although my stat is knackered so thats the main issue
