Ipod problem

I have a 3rd Generation Ipod. I'm having a problem with my playlists. My ipod keeps going back to the top of list of my playlists when I restart my car. For example, I'm listening to my year 2000's albums playlist and turn off the car. When I restart the car later, the Ipod will start playing my 70's playlist, which is the first set on my playlist. The random setting also turns off when I restart the car, which I see others are reporting.

There has been a few times, where my Ipod will start up where I left off, but the majority of the time, it will switch to the 70's playlist.

Does anyone have the same problem? It's annoying to have to set the playlist everytime I start my car.

By "third generation" do you mean the touch-wheel? I'm not an expert on 6FL, but I think it officially supports clickwheel and later iPods. You might just be seeing an idiosyncrasy of the older firmware.

I have a clickwheel and MOST adapter, so I don't have any helpful experience.
