Guys,
twgauto in blackwater BMW specialist agreed to change the main, egr stats and the coolant for £240. I think this the best quote so far..so getting this done...hoepfully my cars TEMP should go above 80 after this is done and I get my old 40+ combined MPG lets see... |

Guys,
I had the same last year, My MPG plummets during the cold weather. During the summer period it was showing a steady 47.8MPG on the dash (Not 100% I know, but gives me some indication) I can already see it dipping quite a bit (Last year showed 38MPG on the computer) - Is this normal? Or do I need to be looking at my temps/thermostat? |

It's worth monitoring your temps over some long journeys, how it reacts to being sat still, then moving off etc.
Basically, if you can get it to temp before you set off, then it plummets when moving, might have a stuck open thermostat. It's harder at the moment due to the cold ambient temperature. |

spoke to a garage today that claims mine runs that low due to having a straight thru exhaust with no boxes in, but surly that would not effect the water temp?? Am I right in quoting water temp not oil temp

Hi All,
As discussed I have had both the EGR and Main stats changed now and also the coolent! I can see the temp going up to 89C to 91C, unfortunately my fuel consumption is still bad, I am only getting 32 MPG combined. Any ideas what else could be wrong? |
