Brake wear sensors OEM vs. Aftermarket?

I was wondering if there was a strong quality difference between the $7 aftermarket sensor by IRO, Uro Parts, or PEX (from ecs tuning, autohausaz) and the $28 OEM sensor from ticher or BMW north. If its just a simple 2 stage contact circut is there really a need to go OEM? I would appreciate any imput. Its not that much $ difference, but i like to save $$ where I can. Thanks for reading!

I have mine bypassed, so I would say oem is too expensive. Lol

I say OEM all day for this. I bought some aftermarket from Amazon and the biggest mistake ever. Yeah I saved $12 for the front sensor but as I was installing the sensor the interior pins are so poor quality that they bent and snapped off. So now what??? Car is lifted and need go get this completed, we'll I found myself at the dealer and just buying the OEM sensor. The savings are not worth buying a shitty product that might fail during the install. Save yourself the hassle and get OEM.

Aftermarket will be fine. It's a very basic sensor like you said. I been using aftermarket for years without issue.

+1. Useless sensor... mine failed on the track and gave false readings. Tore them both out immediately and been running them bypassed ever since.

Visual inspections ftw!

I used the Bowa rear sensor from Autohausaz and it is working fine.

how do you bypass it?, just zip tie it up somewhere and cover the contact with tape or something?

Cut the leads and short them properly, keep the connector plugged in. If you keep it short enough you don't even have to tie it off.

I use the PEX Sensors from FCPEuro $13.99 for Front/$16.80 for Rear

Exactly as OEM and perfect fitment...
