Car locks and unlocks randomly while driving

I have 2007 E90xi and when I drive, the car locks and unlocks randomly. It's so random that even when it unlocks itself, it tries to unlock again or sometimes when it's locked, it tried to lock itself again. So it can't be a bad contact on the center console. It continuously tries to lock and unlock randomly. Sometimes it's just driver's side door, or sometimes it's all the doors. If i'm not running the engine, it's fine. What the heck is going on? I thought it was a ghost initially! It's driving me crazy.

Edit: No one else has my keys. And I'm carrying only one key. The key is inserted into the car. So I can't be pushing on it. This is happening while I'm driving, and when I'm driving only (basically when the engine is on). I sat in my car for 10 mins without the engine on and the car doesn't act up. So it can't be the remote. I even tried my spare one instead. I have to say, this happens EVERY single time I'm driving. Started acting up about a month ago. Maybe some kind of module fault?

Edit2: I took it to a shop. We'll see what the cause was.

Edit3: They couldn't fix it. They said all the chips checked out. WTF... I guess it's time to take it to a dealer shop.

Edit4: Replaced JB Module. Dealer shop fixed it after like a week because even they had difficult time figuring it out. I have no idea what JB module is. Final cost was $1100 (also fixed actuator with it, so I do not know what it exactly costed to replace JB module). Seems like a rip-off but considering how much labor actually went into it in order to figure out what went wrong, I'm okay with it.

Do you have another driver with his/her own keys in the car when this happens? And are you using YOUR key?

I had the exact same thing happen to me with my wife in the car, her keys in her purse. I stopped for an errand, got back in, didn't use my key, just hit the start button, and shortly what you describe started going on!

Only way to clear it was stop, turn off the car, put my fob in the slot, and restart. I think the car got confused...

On the same note, it could just be your keyfob in your pocket being depressed accidentally.

I don't know if they work the same, but the same problem on my old Benz was caused by a faulty/misadjusted door switch. It was making intermittent contact and driving the computer crazy locking & unlocking the doors.

Drivers door open = unlock all
Drivers door closed & speed > 5mph = lock all doors

Hope this might help you out.

Do you have the car set to lock the doors when moving? I agree with an above post, I'd check your door switch to see if it is registering the lock/unlock position correctly. My gf's acua did this when the passenger door lock actuator failed.

Check your battery. If it is on its way out, the fluctuation plays tricks on the various control modules.

I haven't had it happen on the e91, but on my e46 all kinds of seemingly unrelated electrical gremlins started happening randomly when the battery was dying. Locks, gauges, radio, climate all started doing weird things. It started slowly with one or two things happening occasionally and got worse. All cleared up with new battery.

E94.
This happened to one of my friends but only his trunk opened while driving or the light came on, and then went away after some time. He took a video of it to prove it to the dealer.

I told him to start car. With convenience package.
Sit it seat, and open trunk with fob.
(powered trunk)
Then time how long it took for it to close itself and compare to time on video.

Turns out he was pushing the unlock while key fob was in his pocket.

Just my 2cents.

Do you have aftermarket lights in your car? Upgraded LEDs? or did you tap into a light power wire for anything?
