Suspension turmoil
Suspensions gurus,
I'm struggling to decide on the right setup for my E92 M Sport 325i. Looking for better than OEM M Sport suspension, improved handling & for the arches to sit more flush. My observations so far: Eibach Pro Kit -can be paired with M Sport shocks -no sacrifice to comfort -drop is minimal H&R Sport -can probably get away with pairing up on M Sport shocks but run the risk of reduced life span (current shocks done 18K) -comfort (bit worried about this) -drop is healthy Coilovers -the expensive way but the proper way -takes time getting the setup right with all the customization coilovers offer (anyone with experience here) -I don't track, are coilovers overkill? Eibach Sportlines -between H&R & Eibach Pro, not sure if can be paired with OEM shocks -comfort of Eibach -drop is lower than Pro Kit but not as low as H&R -real question is whether these springs are available for E92, as I can only see for E90/E91 I've wanted to make a move for a long time now but the right option for me hasn't been clear.......help! |

you've missed, for me, the best suspension option going for a daily, road going car, and that is a Bilstien B12 spring & damper kit. excellent Bilstien dampers paired with Eibach Pro-kit springs.
http://www.europerformance.co.uk/pag...?product=48921 given the relitivley low mileage of your current setup, i would imagine you could recoup a decent sum of cash for your current spring/damper setup selling on second hand to help towards the extra cost. |

You should go for Teins. http://www.tein.co.uk/srch/uk_search...=STREETADVANCE.
Nice balance between comfort and low ride |

I'm yet to find a worthy garage in the Brighton area, when I do I'll let you know. If you find one, also let me know

Came out of a car park last night & on the downwards ramp my front nearside always rubs!! & I think to myself each time F me what would that be like with lower springs!?
I always take it at lower speed as well, however, I do tend to have a car full of lads so that probably doesn't help......but still |

The H&R springs are much stiffer than the factory springs and the M-Sport dampers aren't specified to control a stiffer spring, so they wear more quickly.

I'm guessing if your planning on keeping your car a long time and put high miles on it H&R probably isn't the route to go down |

Been discussed a million times on here. Look for a thread which was prominent about 3-4 months ago which discussed many different setups.
If you want Rolls Royce then get Ohlins (fully adjustable) Great high mid range and tuned specifically for E9x then get the Birds setup. There are plenty other Bilstein setups et al which are detailed in the thread I mentioned. Go search all the info is out there. Personally I have the Birds setup and it's the best money I have spent on my FBO 335i. Ps: just doing springs is pointless unless you just want a visual job and don't care about ride quality
