Cobb tuner maps
I was running an off the shelf map for a stock 09 335i and I would get a similar situation if you were to blow a coil pack. I uninstalled the map and my car ran great again. I think I may have had a more aggressive map loaded not realizing it. Made my car throw all kinds of misfire codes etc.
Now that I think I know what I did (installing wrong map) can someone recommend a map for a stock 335i that is on the edge before having to mod car for the next stage maps? I had a good map loaded once before and the power increase was insane! unfortunately I don't remember the map I had. Had to uninstall for a service at dealer. Any recommendations welcome. Thanks and Happy New Year! |

First off I would consider putting in new plugs depending on what your mileage is and the last time you changed them.
When I flashed my car the plugs fouled and I threw a code. Car had 49k on it and I assume same plugs since new. I ran/was running until my car got totaled this week…the Cobb Aggressive stage 1 with linear throttle…you will be very happy. BTW, if you install new plugs and it still misfires and throws a code, coil packs may be next. GL. |

Thanks,
I should change plugs as I have never and have 42k on car. There are no other mods besides the tuner. Have to run 91 octane as I live in Ca. and that's the highest they sell. Just out of curiosity, can you put airplane fuel in one of these. I think that fuel runs around 115 octane. |

BTW all codes cleared after removing cobb. I just want to find the best aggressive map for stock. I would love to go with all the mods I could for maximum power yet maintain as a daily driver. Not sure how far I can go and be legal in Ca.

Plugs should be changed every 25K on tuned vehicles. You are overdue. You should only run the map appropriate for your mods and octane. |

My car is the same year and I live in CA and only have shitty 91. My only mod is exhaust but no down pipes so basically stock. You can run stage 1 sport. You will see a boost and shouldnt get any codes.

The COBB Race Maps (100 octane+) require you be FBO, so don't even bother with those. After the tune, I'd recommend a FMIC to make sure whatever tune you're running is consistent by having quality IAT suppression. |
