Herb Chambers Sudburry Covering Walnut Blastiing Intake Valves

Hi Guys as the title says Herb Chambers BMW in Sudburry is walnut blasting my intake valves!

41k miles on the car

Car has been running really rough, and its been majorly down on power not smooth in the powerband and falling all over itself when accelerating. I brought the car in for service with my rep Chris and he was super cool about the whole thing.

They replaced all my plugs as well as performed some other service that was due but he said "your intake runners and valves are a mess, we are going to walnut blast them" Not sure if he knows that I am an enthusiast but I played dumb to make sure they were doing the whole cleaning.... He even stated that it is something that BMW is looking at covering every 40K for the N54's

I should have the car back tomorrow and will update on how the service goes.

+1 for the Herb, thought I was going to have to be devious to get this type of thing covered.

anyways thought I'd share. Happy Holidays e90'ers

I had a great experience at BMW of Sudbury after a few years at Norwood Gallery. It was a night and day experience. I will be buying my next car at Sudbury and getting any service there as well.

+1 for Chris Hatch. He is genuine, responsive and hasn't steered me wrong so far.

Their complementary car wash gives my car lots of swirls They pre-wash with a long-bristled brush and then run it through a soft-cloth automatic car wash. I haven't turned it down yet but I will after I get a full detail next spring.

Second that. I have been doing business with Chris for the past year. Great guy.

Second that too. Tough time with their complementary washes. Swirls all over my blacky.

I got mine done as well there. Mark did a great job and the shop foreman is a standup guy.

I've been there twice with this car and both times they've been very good.

I always make sure they write DO NOT WASH on my service order.

Just thought I'd throw a little update in here about the Car since having the valves cleaned..... In a word WOW! Huge difference. Engine is now buttah smoooooth. Feels like I picked up an extra 30-40hp. Im not kidding. I just drove down to NYC last Friday before the storm and the car was an absolute monster. The amount of power in 3rd and 4th gear is scary. Cant wait to get the rest of my goodies on the car and have it professionally tuned now.

dropping off my car next week... $650. Yowzers. Just got 2 CELs (29D1 and 21D9 :: Misfire Cyl 5) They seem to think this will fix it. I believe the coil is okay since I cleared the CEL and it didn't come back. Could be injector but they doubt it as all 6 were replaced under the recall less than 2 years ago. I'll post an update also.

My car is sitting at BMW Sudbury now, they checked injectors/coils/plugs and the rough idle is from carbon buildup. It will be blasted tomorrow.

Great to hear! I had my M3 in there a few weeks ago from some warranty work/service and I didn't have the greatest experience. Might be worth a shot to bring the 335i down so I won't have to blast it myself.

Worth checking out their specials before going in also... I'm using the $100 off $500

Tiago - you should let BMW blast it for you so you'll have time making a single turbo kit

Got my car back, turns out I had a small crack in a vacuum line. They fixed that and blasted the valves. It's like a new car. Time to make it fast again

I've been running a BMS OCC for a few years now, along with Meth and my car has been running great since it's last warrantied cleaning at around 50,000 miles.....that was 83,000 miles ago.

I'm confused, so do they cover walnut blasting for free or not? My car is a '08 335Xi and is still under CPO. It will be out of warranty in Feb. Thanks!
