Koni Yellow

As name suggested, I am looking to change my m-shocks/ suspension/dampers to this koni yellow. I believe my suspension is since new. The car is currently sitting on 113k on the clock. Have been reading alot of good review matching with the stock springs, without any compromise on comfort but increase handling best part is that it retains the m-sport height.

Just wondering anyone in Aus have gone down this route? If so how much? Pm if you like.

Anyone in sydney have this set-up? if possible maybe have a ride in it?

Troy any reasons why you are just replacing shocks? A lot of people on the forum didn't bother with shocks, and just went straight to coilover. It would be interesting to know your reasons.

Good question. Coilover are $1.5++ depending adjustable or not. Shocks only cost just under $1k plus i retain my height of the car and less fiddling arround. Plus I'm not going to track the car all the time maybe once every 1 year max but apart from that i'm not going to fully utilized the benefits of a coilover. Correct me if i'm wrong but I'll be happy to hear someone else's thoughts ??

What advantages does the Koni Yellow bring over the M-Sport shocks?
Are the Koni Yellow equivalent to oem Sport suspension, so maybe a slightly softer ride?

The BC BR coilovers retails around for $1.2 - $1.3k so its just a couple of hundred bucks more, but more fiddling which you probably don't want or need. $1k seems rather expensive for just 4 shocks, is it because of the shipping cost?

Hi Alan,

I managed to get for koni about $850 from sydney supplier.

That means coil overs are about 500aud more then what i want to spend. Koni gives you stiffer ride but still maintain the m-sport ride height. It's same comfort level as m-sport but corners better.

I see, now that does make a bit more sense $$$ wise. I mean you can maintain the m-sport ride with coilovers, but I guess it is just how to justify paying the extra $$$ for it.

Troy if you do end up buying those shocks I will be very interested in hearing your feedback as I'm pretty much in the same boat as you atm.

What part of handling do you want to improve?

Doing shocks is cheaper than coils, but coils are definitely better value.

Unless the OEM Msport springs are buggered, dont think it is worth to spend $1k just to make your ride "stiffer".
