Question about MP3 Patch

Is this patch supposed to make the CD player recognize CDs with MP3s on them? Will the player read the MP3 tags and display the artist and the track names? Do you need to have iDrive for this functionality?

Non-Idrive already has the Mp3 functionality.

This update is to allow Idrive cars to read Mp3 cd's.

Yes it has the tags on them as well but they are limited to a certain amount of characeters in the original CD player.

You have to use the CD Changer to have the full ID tag.

Again do a search all the info is out there for you.
