Lexus LS460L Job Design Build

Saw this build of a Lexus LS460L on Speedhunters. You can respect the amount of work and attention to detail that went into it. Thought it was interesting to say the least. I will say that of all the crazy things done to this car, the calipers stood out the most to me...
They said it was at SEMA so maybe some of you guys have seen it in person.. Be prepared if you haven't.

I always chuckle at the notion that these types of build are termed "VIP." I don't know a single, actual "very important person" who drives a car that looks like this .

These builds are hideous and are often sported by thirty-thousandaires.

That doesn't look anything close to the VIP Bippu style to me at all. There are a lot of other better examples out there

It's missing those huge 10ft long exhaust out the back. There's car enthusiast of all kinds so I'll just leave it at that...

Wait does VIP not stand for "very important person" in this context

Well, I'm not sure if that changes my opinion but that's still good to know

This style just looks trashy and gaudy to me.

The picture of the above red LS460 doesn't exactly trigger VIP style to me, looks more like its ready for a DUB magazine shoot. The term VIP does mean very important person, and it was in Japan where VIP cars were only rode mostly by Yakuza Mafia bosses, hence "VIP". Then once the style got popular over here, college kids in the states bought $5k Infiniti Q45's and cheap GS300's and now the style VIP doesn't seem so "VIP" anymore, maybe that answers your question. Here is how a actual VIP LS460 should look like, along with the Junction Produce Phantom

That's actually a different style called bosozoku style, VIP cars don't sport that look.

"Inside, the luxury look is very much still in place, albeit with the Job Design twist. Entirely retrimmed in suede and leather, the trio of colours again feature large. The black stripe running down the centre of the car’s bodywork is even recreated on the roof lining. It’s these small details that work to tie the car together, turning what could probably have been a ridiculous mess into something that, while undeniably bold, also works surprisingly well together."

Yeah...if you have to write an essay trying to convince me on why it looks good, chances are; it doesn't look good...

Too much going on.
I usually love seeing VIP cars [when done right] but this has crossed it. Looks more "DUB" than anything.
