rear passenger air vent and heater control illuminated?

on my 2007 335d I was looking at the rear of the car in the dark... the air vent control for rear passengers on mine also has a heater control but at night nothing was lit at all... is this how its supposed to be ?

it was coming out cold as well...but in the daylight I see its set on cold... So need to check that another time...

Sorry, I'm a little confused. Can you take a photo of what you're suggesting?

I presume you're talking about the two vents and the control wheel nestled between them on the rear of the center console?

What's getting me is that you say yours has a heater control on the rear, and I'm interpreting that like the 4-zone climate control option on the 5 series. But I don't think that's what you mean.

its only (I guess) for both rear passengers....

electrical connector is the same as the small iDrive 4 pin connector, with I think mostly blue and yellow wires. It has no illumination at all which seems strange.

Ah that! I don't think that lights up for me. The left switch just controls the flow, and the right switch (approximately) controls the air temperature. It doesn't override the settings on the control panel up front, but in my mind, the bluer the setting, the "fresher" the air feels.

You're good.

Just like the same controls on your dash vents (that don't light up) - neither do these...
