Agree on the "lifetime" thing.

I was suprised that the Mercedes schedule is just a simple old school service A and service B.

Each has oil & filter etc as a minimum, and they alternate every year max or approx 15kmiles depending on use, whichever comes first.

So at the worst your merc will have new oil every 12 months.

Sound like they've taken a step back from "extended" intervals!

sure there is! you just leave the tranny fluid alone, the transmission blows up in 100k. Sounds like a "lifetime" to me, and now the dealership gets to replace the whole thing instead of filter/fluid!
