Buying from a dealer advice please

I've never bought a car from a main dealer before and am just looking a for a bit of advice in the sort of things I could try and get thrown into the deal.

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classifi...Cnew?logcode=p

I've put a refundable deposit on the car in the link above, I'm waiting for them to get it transferred to my local dealer which is part of the same group. The dealer who advertised it on autotrader may have done me a favour as it looks like they have advertised it with a 2 year warranty which I was going to try and push for anyway. So now I guess I can push for something like a service package to be included?? Would there be anything else I could try for??

I'm trading in my current car which they have given me a decent part ex price for considering rear pads and discs are due in 2300 miles, oil service due in 4000 miles and micro filter and brake fluid due in April as well as mot and tax.

The sales guy has been pushing me towards getting Aglaze and metalmate as well, I take it these are where he makes commission?? Are they worth getting or not?? I'm quite dubious of them if I'm honest.

Any help appreciated

I forgot to mention, I've already said I want the M badge gone if we conclude a deal

Yep, try for some free servicing - not sure if you'll get a package as such.

I bought an AUC from a main dealer and once we got as far as we could regarding price and the figure on my PX, I started pushing for a brand new set of mats and fuel. It's worth being a little cheeky. I got the mats but not the fuel - still worth over £100.

I'd steer clear of the Aglaze/Metalmate - waste of money IMO.

Nice car!

Forget the paint stuff it's just a con.
AUC warranty is the key on these cars,I've claimed more than 4k in 6 months so far...

I'll have to be a bit cheeky and see how far I can push it, don't ask don't get

Second of all I would go over that warranty with a fine tooth comb and make sure two years is in writing.

The warranty alone would be well worth it... I have probably used up about 6k over 8 months on mine.

Otherwise I managed to wangle mats, half tank of fuel, ipod lead and logo caps for the alloys.
The postcode isn't mine, autotrader is a bit slack, my road isn't yet listed due to it being a new build area.

Thanks, I'll make sure I get anything about a 2 year warranty in writing, I've already taken a screen shot of the autotrader ad, it says 2 year warranty on that.

Convertible in the winter? I'd have thought you'd be able to negotiate on cash. And then target servicing inclusive options.

I was thinking it might be a bit of a rip off, might be ok to do a new car but probably pointless on a 2nd hand car, unless it's done properly which I doubt it would be at a dealers

Why not?? Now as good a time as any to buy a convertible

I'm trading my current car in, but do have someone coming to look at it tomorrow, so may have some cash in hand at some point.

You might be able to get a deal on a wind deflector too.

Thats something I hadn't asked about, but it is listed on the autotrader advert, so as the seller I'm dealing with is part of the same bmw group id be expecting them to honour the same advert details. I've already told the dealer that I want the 2 year warranty that's was also on the autotrader advert.

I'd imagine about now the garage might be looking to refresh his stock.

When I was selling my z4 in '07. Ten weeks during Feb, March and early April without a bite except one tyre kicker and some "we have a buyer for your car..." canvassers. . First bit of spring weather in mid April (got suddenly really hot if i remember) and I could've sold my car ten times over in that one weekend (if I assume a 50% hit rate and 25% real offers). The guy that got it marched away with a bargain. The price was unmoved as it was priced competitively from the outset as I was due my current car in May but i wasn't in a rush. so the only change was the weather or time of year.

Well I've bought myself an e93 330i m sport, I'm collecting it tomorrow, can't wait.

Didn't do too bad on the deal I don't think but they didn't give it away. £500 of the price, 2 year warranty which was as advertised by another dealer, a set of mats, wind deflector which was advertised by another dealer and a tank of petrol.

The 19" mv4's are immaculate, tyres are maybe a 1000 miles old.

Will have some e90 blacklines for sale tomorrow if anyone's interested
