The first wash after waxing?

So let's say I just did all the steps in detailing my car and polishing and waxing to perfection.

Then a week or so goes by and it's time to just wash it...

Do I:
Lightly hand wash with soap/water, dry with microfibers.
Lightly hand wash with soap/water, dry with microfibers and quick spray wax.

Or just use manual spray soap/water without the handwash?

I guess my main question is, should I still handwash after I just waxed my car last week?

Hand washing would be the best way to ensure its not being scratched. Of course it also means with good quality materials and techniques. You don't always need to wax it, a good way to tell if you need waxing is take a look at the water after you rinse your car down, and see if the water is beading up nicely. If not, then you should wax it. Hand washing won't remove the wax.

you could just hand wash the car. Wax should stay on the car and make the washing procedure easier. You should see thick beads of water which shows how well you waxed the car. I usually wash and spray wax in the winter.

Just wanted to make sure hand washing wouldn't remove the wax. Thanks

Another thing to pay attention to is the soap you are using to wash your car. Some soaps are designed to strip wax where some of them don't. Make sure to use the ones that don't obviously lol. Using a quick detailer to aid in drying will definitely help prolong the life of protection on your car.

I use Griot's Garage. They have a Soap/Wax. Give your beauty a good rinse...followed by gentle bath with a microfiber mitt....rinse...apply their Spray Wax and towel dry with a microfiber towel. The Spray Wax will enhance your wax job.

Car wax does not last very long.
