Smoked Side marker: Film or Spray?

Hey guys, so my side markers are going yellow. I'm going to try to "clean" them up with Pastx (if you guys have any other suggestions, please share), but I'm pretty doubtful it will clean it up to the way I like it. So if that doesn't work, I'm going to just smoke out the oems (Since everything I read stated that aftermarket has fit issues).

So I'm wondering if you guys have used film or spray and what are the positives/cons of both. Also what product you used would be helpful as well.

FYI - All the VHT pics I've seen seems very black and dark. I'm looking for a smoked look but can still see through. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

I sprayed mine, two light coats of VHT will get rid of the white look.

Me & my friend spray our sidemarker with transparent black. We really like it. You can get it at Pep Boys

I did spray Came out black. If you do tint it's gotta be super dark cuz you will see some orange.

Hey man do you have a close up pic of the side marker? From the pic it doesn't look too dark. Might be the look I'm looking for.

How many coats did you spray that it got black? I'm trying to avoid that.

Not currently, I could try to take one today but my car is sadly caked in salt. Give me an excuse to get it washed this weekend

I put three coats cuz i wanted them dark but if you spray twice with a light layer (makes sure you are spraying at least a foot away) you should achieve what you want.

It was originally orange and I sprayed three coats. It's dark black but when the blinker is on you can see the light blink just enough.
