Will BMW Torque App w/JB4 Maps other than Map 0??
Does anyone have first hand accounts of the BMW Torque App working while in JB4 maps other than map 0?
I ask because I've read testimony of OBD II diagnostic equipment having difficulty communicating with the DME when a JB4 equipped car is in any map other than 0. And since the app needs a Bluetooth OBD II scanner to work it begs the question of JB4 map compatibility. To those that havent heard of the BMW torque app I recommend you check it out. I know it's been around a long while but I, like many others might have, recently purchased my 335. It's a nifty ass app. Especially for the price |

I use it for certain things on all procede maps. Seems to work fine, I don't see it being any different than the jb

I like it. Its defiantly improved since i first got it a few years ago. I use it mainly for water temp, iat, afr target, and cat temp. Things i dont want to clog up a channel for on the procede. Its good to read/clear codes on the fly. For $5 its defiantly worth it. I use a ELM BT adapter but Ken (Wedgeperformance) has explained that the WIFI adapter is a lot faster than the BT. It was in a recent Thread I'll try to find it. It was $60 vs the $20 i spent but its still not that bad. I'd probably find more use for it with the faster refresh rate

I believe it has to do with different lines of data. JB being canbus like (like other piggybacks) and the OBD II adapter using Kline. I may be wrong but makes sense to me. Although anything should be able to read canbus as long as its not writing anything. I understand the newest aviation digital and high speed data lines and backplane talk but haven't quite looked into our communication system enough. Maybe i should.
