O2 Sensors bad?

How do you know when your front o2 sensors are bad???

I've been getting lambda probe codes lately and they won't go away. Plus my gas mileage has been really poor lately. Usually I'm around 13L/100 and now I'm at 16L/100.

Could they need replacing?

Would o2 sensors going bad always throw a code? Because I have been trying to figure out why my mpg has been horrible lately with me driving like a grandma

Cold weather and the higher ethanol content of winter gas also act to reduce mileage.
