No CEL but still wont pass inspection....

So I have catless headers with the AA tune on my N52 and even though I have no check engine lights they say I am still failing because my systems are not ready (5 incomplete) and I need to complete a drive cycle and/or drive a bunch of miles. Well I have tried pretty much everything, I even put 1000 miles on my car which seemed to help somewhat because now they say I only have 3 not complete.

The ones still not complete are
-Support Cat
-Stat Cat
-Stat 02

My question is, Will my car ever pass inspection or am I doomed. Any ideas? Should I just keep driving miles and hope for the best?

Thanks for any input guys.

How do you guys pass inspection with catless dps? I assume you need a tune or something right?

BMS DP Fix: http://burgertuning.com/dpfix.html

Doesn't work on catless headers for N52. Programming and 02's are different.

Move to FL. The best way to pass inspection is to not be inspected.

If its anything like the 335i the drive cycle for emissions readiness is stupid, try doing the drive cycle exactly as its written here:

The 40-60mph for 15min continuous with no throttle fluctuations is what was getting me, there is literally nowhere around me where I can do that under normal driving conditions. I had to just get one the highway in the slow lane and drive under 60mph for 15 min and piss everyone off haha.

It won't pass as is.

You would either need to add a cat OR you can try to trick the o2 sensor by adding a spark plug non fouler to your rear o2 sensor.

The drive cycle may help but highly unlikely since you have no cat.

The 335i guys use the DP Fix or go back to stock cat.

This may or may not work depending on how sensitive your car is. You will still need to drive around to get that ready code.

My advice is to pick up a cheap OBDII reader scanner ($50 or so) that way you can scan your own car. Make sure it scan not only for DTC codes but emissions and ready codes.

You can also use that scanner down the road for diagnostics on this vehicle and any other vehicle. Worth it's weight in gold!

I have a modded stg 3 complete catless 335. I have been passing DEQ no sweat, just follow the drive cycle.

Keep in mind, I have NO CATS what so ever. And when I do the drive cycle, I turn the O2 modifier in Procede to 'off' anyway. So I think with or without DP fix, there should be a big enough window from the time you do the drive cycle to the DEQ, that the lights should stay off.

Make sense?

Awesome man thank you I will have to try this, I actually have two non-foulers that I can try. The question is, is the AA tune affecting my ability to pass any of these ready codes? So for example if I put the non-foulers do you think that will do the trick or do you think I will also have to disable my tune.

Thanks for your help I really appreciate it

Modern OBD2 systems and checks are too sensitive to be tricked by this - I've tried on many different BMWs over a range of models and years. You're stuck putting cats back on or get a tune that can set readiness without cats, and I don't know whether that exists for your car (others, yes).
