You obviously have only raced stock SRT's or some bolt-ons. Boost the SRT or build the engine and 335 will be toast.

Yeah a lightly modded 2013 Chrysler 300C SRT8, both Challenger and Charger SRT8's... Not very fast IMO(in stock form), compared to stock M5's/E63 AMG's, and this if of course solely based on driving stock cars.

Anyone have any idea what he paid for yet got no benefit from I don't know what the srt8 was or if it had mods got the story third hand from a vette owner.
Its not the mods that is the issue its the Dinan software. More than likely he paid for Dinan's stage 3 plus more hardware at that price

You can start at the 79 minute mark. He slipped in quite a few BMS disses (and piggybacks in general) without calling names.

edit: never mind you found it lol

While I would NEVER buy Dinan parts and I'd hate to be viewed as defending them because I do think the value is poor, I would throw out there that there's a huge difference between designing parts and working with a company like BMW and meeting the requirements of being sold/installed at the dealerships vs. what many of the vendors here do - which in most cases is working out of a couple hundred sq ft of industrial park space or their parent's garage.

I've generally had good experiences with the vendors selling parts here but many if not most are just figuring out how to import parts from Asia and are hoping to mark it up and call it a day. It's not like any of the tuners have any liability of engines fail or parts break for example. I'm a fan of Shiv's but Procede install instructions and documentation is a years-old YouTube video and a dated manual put together by users, not him - and that's perfectly fine because the price reflects it.

As far as cosmetic parts, I've bought enough to know that I doubt 2/3rds of the parts sold here would even make it through the front door of an oem with respect to QC and fitment.

It's just simple econmics folks. Dinan provided the very first flash tune for the vehicle, and backed it up with an engine warranty--> Dinan payed for several blown engine replacements (parts and Labor), no questions asked-->Dinan then raised the prices on their parts.

Dinan no longer has a "special" relationship with BMWNA as BMW is now selling its own performance parts.

In any event, Dinan's relationship was always with the marketing/sales end and was never with BMW's engineers.

They are not that far off tho for thousands of dollars less. Then start adding some mopar tune and upgrades and bmw is toast.

Everyone with a jb4 tune with minor mods I have ever met swear up and down their cars are unbeatable. Hate that cocky attitude. I love my 335i but a lightly modded evo will take out a jb4 335 out hands down and I have seen it and done it!

Nah, just continuing same sub par mods with premium pricing and LOTS of marketing to unsophisticated types. Been doing it for decades, N54 was just latest version of that.

Short Version -- The Dinan tune is VERY conservative. Especially because they replace BMWs Factory Warranty with their own, so they don't wanna replace anything they don't have to (like Turbos from high WG Duty Cycle).

The Dinan hardware (FMIC, Intake, Exhaust, Suspension, etc) is all VERY good stuff, but it certainly has a price premium.

Even then.. Nothing to brag about. In my old Evo VIII I've ran heads/cam srt8 chryslers and procharged charger .. Nothing to brag about. They're heavy, very heavy . I was making 456 on gt28 and was walking them out..

This is very true... But to each their own, my stage 3 STi used to murder anything with a BMW badge, but fortunately I am now a representation of the brand and a living testament to the product, love my M3, so much I got a second one, hahaha.
