Other Body Shop / Paintwork Options

Hey guys,

Just wanted to know if people have had experience at other body shops in the Chicagoland area. I know people rave about A&L, but I did not find their prices competitive.

Long story short: my front bumper was recently damaged and A&L quoted me $1200 to replace and paint a new bumper or $550 to paint a new bumper (since I asked how much it would cost just for the paintwork if I bought my own bumper). My car is a 2011 BMW 335i in AW.

Before I commit to a body shop in which I will likely need to visit a few more times in the future for paintwork of scratches/dings - since we do live in Chicago - just want to make sure I have at least heard of other places around here, especially ones with possibly better pricing.

That doesn't sound right. Did you talk to Anthony? That's no where near what they charge for painting a bumper.

Thats also what i got quoted for a mtech bumper paint/prep. Was going to try them until i got the quote. Also my buddy got his downpipes installed there. Good price. But had rattle issues ever since he picked up. Dropped it back off and they said it was good to go. A week later it started again. Took it to a indy shop and they stated they didnt position them correctly and it was making contact with the subframe once they heated up and expanded. Also some of the bolts were left loose and a exhaust hanger was left off. Cheap intall but not very good quality.

A&L usually has the best pricing around, so I'd be curious as to your expectations and what other prices you find. Body shop wise, A&L has the best quality around, hands down. Had a guy upon trade of my car tell me he didn't find any aftermarket paint or body work, but a rear end accident was reported on carfax.

As far as the DP install. I had similar issues and finally talked to Anthony who took care of the problem. Dp install is a bear. Talk to Anthony directly on these issues. He will make sure that they get done right.
