Having driven performance 4wd cars, I find them MORE dangerous in poor conditions as they encourage a false sense of security under acceleration in, so you go much faster, much more quickly, than you should, and you are still relying on the same old braking abilities as any 2wd car. I find the 2wd of a performance car is a natural speed limiter in poor conditions. Quote:

I agree with you they do give a false sense of security and as you say the two wheel drive big power cars certainly act as power limiters in poor conditions. It was more the way the power went down on coming out of corners which made the Audi feel faster.However I know the limitations of the M3 and I will be sticking with it meantime.
