Need Help - Light bulb error in dash
So I got a pair of new fog light bulbs installed that I purchased from DDM Tuning. The day I got them installed, what should have been a max 1 to 2 hour job took the body shop about 3 to 4 hours - maybe they were trying to do it the super right way or whatever but I don't think it was a case of them not knowing what they were doing as they have been in business for 35 years and specialize with BMW's for anything pretty much. Even the parts folks in the dealership refer's people over to them for stuff once the car is out of warranty.
So the day I get them installed, everything is working fine except I keep getting the "illuminated bulb" warning in the dash panel and then it reduces to a small triangle with the exclamation mark in it. That night I noticed that the driver side headlight angel eye (outer ring) was not on. I turned the car off and turned it back on again and the angel eye came back on and has been on ever since but the bulb error has not gone away. I am not sure if it could just be an issue of re-coding the fog lights since I installed new ones. If that is the case then the error should show the fog light symbol (which it was when there were no bulbs in there and it was trying to detect it. Once installed the fog light symbol error has gone). Or is it just a case of one of the lights on the exterior of the car not working (could be the headlight that didn't come on that one time but has been working ever since). Could it be a case of some programming or wiring gone wrong or over load on the battery or something? I am just going crazy trying to figure it out and nail down the problem. Any reco's/suggestions at all? Please help ASAP. |
