Can you please comment on this price? (330xi order in Connecticut)

I am hoping someone on this board can comment on this offer from my dealer. I have seen much better offers on this board, but many of those seem to be for RWD versions of the car in other markets. This will be an AWD version purchased in Connecticut, and will be an order.

The invoice price of the car is $43,295. The dealer is offering $1500 over invoice, plus:

- $200 advertising fee;
- $275 conveyance fee;
- $165 registration fee;
- and, obviously, tax.

So, including all fees, the price is $2140 over invoice, which is $1880 under the $47,315 MSRP. This does not seem like a good deal to me, although I have to take in to consideration our market in Connecticut for the XI.

The dealer will include carpeted floor mats, rubber all-season floor mats, and install the alarm at a reduced price of $450, instead of $595.

I'm particularly interested in hearing from members with XIs in the Northeast, but any and all replies will be greatly appreciated. As you all know, this is a HUGE purchase.

Thanks to anyone who can help out and tell me to run away, or who can calm me down a bit. There are at least 3 other dealers in driving distance that I can negotiate with, but this dealer is my first choice since they are only 10 minutes away. But still, if this isn't a good deal, I'll go somewhere else...

Offhand it sounds reasonable for an xi in winter. I would email the other dealers and see if you get a better deal. My guess is that you are within a few hundred $ or so of the lowest offer.

I ordered a 330xi in October in Buffalo!! Only able to get $1000 of MSRP, but with no other fees with the exception of a $40 doc fee (I think the DMV registration fee was also around $45).

Difficult to get a really good deal around here since there is only one dealership within 70 miles...

This makes no sence at all. Why would you have to pay a for an advertising fee and a conveyance fee? It's my understanding that BMW NA pays your dealer $300 for every BMW they sell. And what conveyance our they giving you? IMO I think your getting a lot of .

Update: just called a second dealer (which also charges seperate advertising and conveyance fees). The first dealer beat the second dealer by $410. I still think both are too high.

Advertising fee = MACO which is legit; although I think it's weak.

Ask them wtf is a conveyance fee? It's tough trying to get a fair deal in the NE on an AWD in the middle of winter though.

I have now received quotes ranging from the lowest price (North Haven) to the highest (Greenwich) which is $1262.92 higher than North Haven!

Shopping around is a MUST.

$2140 over invoice is ridiculous. For an xi you shouldn't be paying anymore than 1K over invoice.

- $200 advertising fee - maybe legit
- $275 conveyance fee - BS fee. What does this even mean?

Unfortunately, every dealer in CT charges a conveyance fee of $275 or $295.

The best deal I have so far is $1200 over invoice, but that includes the advertising fee so we are really around $1000 over invoice.

I paid $950 over invoice for my xi (northern NJ), so the $1000 over sounds fair. Keep in mind, however, that the better the deal you receive the less likely you will get all those "extras" thrown in, such as the mats and the reduced fee alarm install. With the dealer 10 minutes away from you, you should at least give them a chance to match your lowest offer. Print out an email from the dealer offering you $1000 over invoice and speak to the manager at the dealership closest to you. Show him the email and express your eager commitment to buy, but don't be afraid to walk out if he doesn't bite. Good luck with your purchase!

I got $700 above invoice from a dealer in Northern Virginia - 330xi SG, comfort access, PDC, Premium package, Cold Weather package, i-Drive navigation, floor mats - invoiced at $41,710 (including delivery). Accepted quote at $42,410 (no other fees) - excluding title, registration and tax.

Hey,

I am in CT and just ordered one last weekend for $60 over the true invoice. I speant a lot of time at many different dealers including BMW of north haven (right near my house), New country Bmw (where I bought it from), bmw greenwich, and bmw darien. All in all, greenwich and hartford had the lowest prices. PM or email me for more details. I will let you know how to get a deal.

I don't think that's a required fee by law so I would still negotiate it hard and just say that you are willing to pay $700 over + that BS fee. Tell them that if they hit that price you will order right away. If you are serious about buying - they will probably come down.
