I got a ticket for doing 86 on a 55. I had just done traffic school a couple months before and I don't think the speed would have qualified anyways. I ended up disputing it. When I went to court, about 70% of the cases that were being heard that day had a cop present. Every single case that went before mine, for which the cop was present, the judge ruled guilty. No matter what your argument was. I was one of the lucky few for which their issuing officer didn't show up. My case got called, went up to the stand and my ticket was dismissed.
I would def. say challenge it. 1) you have a chance that the cop won't show up and it will get dismissed, 2) if you're found guilty, the judge might then give you an option to attend traffic school. This depends on if you're eligible, the offense is eligible and the judge is nice enough. |

That's the most you can do. Some people would suggest Trial by Written Declaration, but I'd say 80% of the time it doesnt work as it seems most judges feel that's just a lazy way to settle your mistake. Good luck. |
