How to remove "wax"
Hey guys
Long story short, my car was parked in the apartment garage. And one day i found out there were chemicals dripping down from the pipe above my car, and i talked to the manager, they said the chemical should be wax. So right now i am trying to get the "wax" off my car. The "wax" on the 2 windshields has been removed by applying some gasoline on it and it came off with some wiping, but the wax left on the top and the trunk of the car cannot be removed. So please give me some advice which product should I try? Thank you |

isopropyl alcohol mixed with some distilled water will do the trick... if it doesnt work just do straight 70-90% iso. alcohol.
if THAT doesnt work, smack your manager for telling you that it was "wax"

I think the wax ate through some of the clear coat.
So, I say wet sand and polish and seal. Also, next time on the glass anything, just scrape it with a blade. DN |

I doubt that your apartment manager has a clue what is dripping out of those pipes because it is definitely not "wax". Please take some pictures so we can make a better assessment of what exactly is dripping onto your car. Pipes in apartment complexes usually will run water or gas and since gas doesn't drip, my best guess will be that it is some really hard water that is leaving a ton of mineral deposits on your car, possibly etching your clear coat. If this is the case, you will need to remove the etching by using some sort of abrasive: Polish/Compound/Wetsand.
But before you dive into this project, if those pipes are above your designated spot, have the apartment manager get them fixed to prevent future incidents. Or park somewhere else ![]() |

+1 It wont be as harsh as the iso. But there is also another compound called goo gone and they make an application for car paint that might work as well.
