I am not knocking it, just I've used the castrol stuff for my last three 325's with no probs and sytner are fussy about what oil you can supply for a service.

yes i was thinking about that. i want to have my next oil service at bmw to keep the history - but im not paying there oil price! do dealers allow you to supply your own oil and filter?

Costco has 4 liters Castrol proper Synthetic 05w 30 £28.00 all in also Asda does Castrol synthetic 1 liter for top ups 5w30 £12.00 cheapest I've seeeen.

Not all bmw dealers use same oil some use total & esso we use PETRONAS now, As long it pasts bmw standards ok.
