Performance and sound wise they are an improvement. Some people don't like taking off the cats though or dealing with the smell of exhaust gas but this is more of like a personal preference because it's not necessarily what I consider a downside because some aren't worried about cats and like myself, I don't mind the burnt exhaust gas smell
