N55 cat-back exhaust the same thing as an N54's?

Hi, I recently was reading the N55 mod thread and came across a post from somebody saying all the cat-back type exhausts already on the market would fit an N55. Then most of that thread goes on about people having to get custom exhausts made by Vanguard and others. So I was a bit confused, THEN someone posted pictures of a stock N55 exhaust:

So while I was reading this thread I was multitasking and also browsing various vendor websites and saw this:

IND/Eisenmann:

From what I'm seeing all or most of the exhausts already on the market will fit an N55. Am I right? If so, why aren't all these exhausts listed in the "Mods for N55 thread"??

PS I JUST looked on the BMW accessories website and the performance exhaust offered for 2011 Sedan is the same part number as the one offered for an 09...

Are the PE exhausts for both cars the same?

While the stock exhausts won't be identical, most aftermarket ones will bolt right up to be the same.
I've had the extreme of all extremes. I have an N55 e92 335i xDrive and I managed to put on a N54 e90 335i rwd AE exhaust on. So, that tells me all 335i exhaust should bolt up with little to no fab.
I also sold my N55 exhaust to an N54 guy.
