Do most people order their 335i Sedans or buy off the lot?
Assuming I decide to purchase a 335i sedan in early 2008, I'm just curious if most people order theirs. It only makes sense that you can probably obtain a better deal for cars already on the dealer's lot, but my problem is that I want a relatively thinly-optioned 335i sedan. I'm only interested in the following options: step, sports pkg, paddle shifters, rear split/fold sets w/ pass thru. Most cars at the two local Columbus dealers were really loaded up.
In other words, I don't see how I can do anything but order the car to get it with the minimal options I want. Then I'm just wondering if the deals people are quoting they are getting for 335i sedans are really realistic for those who order their cars. Can any of you who ordered a 335i sedan please let me know how much over invoice or below sticker you paid? Also, let me know if you had a trade-in as this is another huge factor in whatever final overall deal is negotiated. Thanks! ![]() |

ONLY questions when ordering a 40k car is :
1) do you have time contraints, do you need a car NOW? 2) are you picky? if you answered 1)NO, then 2)YES then place an order. its a fun (sometimes painful) process that makes your car personal and that much better! oh and you get EXACTLY what YOU want!

Welcome bman! Yeah, I'd have to agree with everyone else...order it. When I talked to the guy at MAG when I was looking he mentioned they usually configure almost all their cars coming to their lot with premium pkg and cold weather pkg. On the 328i you'd probably see more people not get leather and what not but on the 335i I'd say the avg person will want it pretty loaded, hence why most dealer inventory on those will be configured that way.
BTW, don't know if you're leaning towards one dealership or not but I'd suggest speaking to Steve Topolosky at Kelly. He's my CA and he's been great to deal with. Laid back guy, no pressure. The feeling I got from the dealership was that they are more friendly to the enthusiast than MAG, I mean they are the only BMW dealership that does Dinan tuning in central Ohio ![]() As for price...I got $1k off msrp, although I think if I tried harder I could've gotten at least another $200. You might be able to get a little more off if you're not going to order until early '08. I don't know how they will be with my trade since I haven't gone in to do the paperwork yet, I'm doing Performance Center Delivery on Nov 15. BTW, you might want to look into that if you do order and have time. |
