Talking Best Tire(s) to Maintain "The Ultimate Driving Machine's" Factory Agility???

Besides the Michelin PSS what are some tires that have proper sidewall rigidity to maintain the agility (and provide superior traction) our cars come with from the factory via the stiff tractionless runflats?

I was looking at the Continental DW's until I read a number of reviews saying that the sidewalls were too soft and caused the car to lose the "BMW feel" it had before. Which I don't want to happen AT ALL! That's why I bought a BMW. I'll be damned if a TIRE takes that away from me!!!!

Second to those for me are the Bridgestone Potenza S04's which scored 2nd to the Michelin PSS's on a Car and Driver comparison test (DW's scored 5th).

In the end I would like a tire that provides excellent traction, matches factory agility of runflats, and lasts 30,000 miles.

I've done plenty or research. Most people only mention traction and seem to leave out the ever so important agility factor.

Anyone have any solid suggestions?

Happy Friday everyone!

Looking for the same.
The Conti DWS route was not good to me.

Hancook aren't bad. Every time I have thought about going away from Michelin I go back. They are hands down the best in class! Spend the extra money and do it right. Especially on tires.

They are very important to me! Don't get me wrong.

What's holding me back is that I've read a few testimonials from people stating they got less than 10,000 miles out of their PSS's.

Anyone have input on this claim???

regarding the conti dw, I'm now on my second set.

The RFTs that came with my sport package were certainly responsive feeling but they had downsides, including low mileage life combined with high cost. Also, some of their ride characteristics are not so favorable, particularly on bad roads.

To your point, when you simply go from RFT to this tire (DW), the car will feel softer and less responsive. However, much of that can be regained with additional benefits with things like M3 parts. Through suspension mods, my car feels very responsive now, even with Conti DWs. Perhaps it would feel even more so, with something like PSS.

The DWs favorable attributes are traction (both wet and dry), quiet, and higher mileage. I think only the PSS meets or exceeds in the quiet / mileage areas.

Given your priorities and from what I've read, think you would be happy with PSS, though I haven't tried them yet.

There's a mileage warranty on the PSS. I'm on the end on mine, but I'm over 30k now. I do rotate (otherwise they would have been gone long ago).
