Getting tired of my Morel SC10. What next?

Ideally, I'd like to stick right back in the same enclosure which came from MusicarNW. I have 750W at 4 ohms or 1150 at 2 ohms to play with. Budget is not a limiting factor. Suggestions?

The one thing about the SC10 is that it just doesn't seem to get loud enough to keep up with the rest of the system especially through the back seats. With the seats down it's great. Seats up, totally different story. I'm not sure if it's just because I'm reaching the end of excursion on that sub due to the 1150W it's getting right now but it does seems to just hit a wall at a certain point while the rest of the system keeps on going.

The rest of the system is:

Arc Audio PS8 DSP
Audison LRx 5.1k (connected to tweeters, mids and sub)
Audison LRx 4.5 (bridged connected to underseat woofers)
a/d/s 344is mids
MB Quart QTD25 tweeters
Morel ADMW 9 underseats

IDMax10. You'd need about a 0.75" spacer ring tough.
FiQ 10, no spacer needed.

Would NOT recommend 10W6, used to run it in same enclosure, and the bass gets trapped in the trunk.

FWIW, IDMax 10 models better than pretty much any 12 I have been able to find when looking for drivers for 12" corner enclosures.

So is this 10" sub in a corner enclosure? Maybe get another one for the other side and amp it or buy a new amp for both. Otherwise, if you are willing to give up the trunk space, get another 10" driver and put a custom dual vented enclosure behind the rear seat and open your ski hole.

FiQ was one that I was considering but I have no experience with that particular brand. Seems promising though. Any first hand experience with them? IDMax with a spacer ring could also be a possibility but the recommended enclosure size is .75 cu ft which is much larger than the enclosure I have now.

I havent tried the Q yet, but even their spl subs have decent sound quality. I don't reccomend internal leads.

How much bass are you wanting? At 2 ohms you'd be pushing it with the Idmax, but the Q could easily handle some extra power.

I measured it once by pouring styrofoam peanuts in the enclosure and from what I remember it was closer to .65.

That enclosure seems really small. You'd probably be better off with an infinite baffle setup.

The IDMax10 works with as little as 0.5 cf. With some polyfill, and EQ, I'm certain you could make it sound awesome in 0.6 cf. It is difficult to find anyone who has used this sub and has anything bad to say at all. I have done a ton of research on the IDMax because I am planning to get the 15 and use it in my IB set-up.

I'm sure it would work but in this case I think infinite baffle would work better than a small sealed box especially since you can fit a 12 or 15 in the ski pass. With such a small enclosure you'll have a peak in the higher frequencies and less output at lower frequencies. Infinite baffle would give you a flatter response. Plus the corner enclosure costs nearly as much as the sub so its quite a bit cheaper.

Edit- NVM forgot he already has the corner enclosure.

Yep, and IB is not for everyone.

Agreed but that is a decision for the op to make.

Not going to go through the trouble of doing IB when I have fold down seats. That is one feature I cannot lose and would be difficult to do an effective IB without sealing that up.

Your problem is volume and that us the exact thing modeling can help you with. Model both in the same enclosure and see what the difference will be.
