Gunmetal Caliper Paint
I'm rebuilding my brakes and painting them in the process either black or a dark gray gunmetal. G2 has the caliper paint kit in black but not gunmetal, the closest thing is silver. Currently, I'm looking at getting a custom color from G2, just need to decide on a shade of grey that matches well.
Here's a picture of my Morr vs8.2 which is a brushed aluminum + clear with black background. Please excuse my little 328i calipers/rotors, I will be doing a conversion and putting larger oem 335i brakes on. EDIT: I think I will be getting a custom color from G2, just trying to pick a shade of gray now. I'm currently looking at the Porsche GT3 RS Grey that Creaminz painted his 335i with. It's subtle yet classy. Any thoughts or other shades of gray I should consider? Last edited by Pawlin; 03-12-2014 at 02:57 PM.. |

Thanks.
Thanks (I think) Thanks Thanks. Colour is Nogaro Silver (colour match for OEM wheels I believe). Clean, sand & paint. Caliper anti-rattle clip is OEM. I filled the hole with metal putty & sanded flat. Then paint, apply custom sticker & 3-4 coats of clear. That it. Very easy with a little attention to detail. Our calipers are quite ugly therefore I didn't want red or yellow to make them stand out. I went for something that I thought would make it look clean & finished whilst being subtle. I think I achieved what I was hoping for. |

Your paint/finish is exactly what I'm going for except I want a bit darker shade of gray since the background of my wheels are black. I think your gray/darkgray looks much cleaner and classier than black. Last edited by Pawlin; 03-07-2014 at 06:05 PM.. |

Thanks Patrick719, that's a sweet grey as well. I'm going to look into some of the greys from exotic cars.

Well. If you goto autozone and look at their cans of touchup spraypaint they have some very faint sand/gold colors that don't stand out at all. I did my last car in that color, looked very subtle and nice.
