Help! Any indy's near Croydon?
Hi guys,
Was driving home quite late last thursday night, somehow nodded off behind the wheel for a second and my offside rear wheel hit a curb... after that i had to steer left for the car to drive in a straight line and everytime i hit a pot hole or driving on un-even surface the car would do a sudden-short swerve left and right, obviously one of the wheels is buckled or out of alignment. The second day 3 warning signs came up on the dash board, cant remember exactly but was along the lines of Tyre pressure monitor disabled. DSC disabled. Dxx disabled (cant remember what it was called but it said "driving at moderate speed" something to do with the car's stability i presume) so took it to my local BMW dealers on Tuesday morning and they just got back to me earlier this afternoon with: - Both rear alloys needs replacing, and tyres - Rear stabalisers (offside) £624 - Shock absorber (offside) £154 - KBS alignment £434 I was just thinking that is way too expensive for me, so i'd like to ask if anyone know any good indy's near Croydon? Thanks! |

Alignment for £434?!?!?! The most I've heard before is about £250 and even that is a shocking price! It's 30 mins work requiring a few twists of relevant bolts!
From what I know, proper laser alignment on a Hunter machine is about the £100 mark for an E9x. I've seen less, I've seen more.

I've used gmg motors in Sutton a couple of times now and the are pretty good.
I think the owner is an ex main BMW dealer mechanic and one of the guys that works there part time also workes for Vines BMW full time. £50 per hour + VAT but can often do cash deals as well. Where did you get your original quote from, was it Cooper Croydon by any chance? I've been getting my warranty work done there and let's just says that my experience of them has been interesting .......

I've been to Cooper Croydon 4 times for warranty work now and so far my experiences haven't been that good. Glad I'm not paying the £170 per hour + VAT that they charge that's all.
