E92 Electrical Issue
My boss has an 07 E92 325i.
Yesterday he contacted me to tell me that the car had completely died as if the battery was completely flat. I've listed the symptoms he gave me below: > Alarm fob wouldn't open car, car just beeped when you hit the unlock button. > No lights etc would come on when the alarm fob was clicked. Lights, radio etc wouldnt work when he got inside the car manually. > Prior to this happening he had noticed during the day the every time he stopped the car and started it again the clock had reset. This happened three times yesterday before the car died. He left the car for an hour with the intentions of jump starting it. Came back an hour later and the car was 100% again. Opened, turned over and lights etc all working 100%. Cars still working 100% today. Its going into a friend of mine on Wednesday for a service and MOT prep, however just wanted to see if anyone else had seen this before, just to give the mechanic some ideas to go on to diagnose this issue incase it happens again in a more remote location Noticed online that others spoke of a similar problem with the IBS, but just checking if anything could be at fault. Sounds to me like an immobiliser issue or a bad earth. Thanks, Chris |

Possibly a power distribution box issue, I know E92 M3's had this problem but not sure if it was spread across the E9X range. its located under the pass side of the dash, main battery lead goes to it. try removing the underdash cover (2 T20 torx) and locate the power distribution box, and give it a calibrated thump with you're hand...sometimes gets them going again, if so...it will need replaced.
