How does mapping work overseas? (PTF)
I have read many users use PTF as their ways to tune their car. I'm about to get my RB Turbos and will have those installed immediately. I am curious though, should I go to the local remapping shop to get mine tuned? Or should I go with PTF? It sounds like PTF is the reliable option, but I'm not sure how to get my information back and forth to them. I have a the Cobb AP, but that's it. I have tried hooking it up to my Mac and it never recognized it. Is that also normal or is it suppose to work with both? Any help/pointers/advice would be fantastic! I would really like to go with PTF, but it seems quite difficult from overseas (6 hour difference from central).

It's a small world
I'm going through a Protune process with PTF right now - and I am in Australia.
The 'description' section at the bottom of this page on the PTF website explains the process > http://www.protuningfreaks.com/tunin...otune-bmw.html You have all you need with the Cobb AP as that is used to record the logs. These are then emailed to your tuner at PTF; he then emails you a revised tune which you load onto the AP and then your car. This process is repeated until you and your tuner are satisfied with your car's tune. You will not regret doing it. Can't help with your Mac issue, sorry.

I suggest getting in touch with us before getting them installed. In that case we should be able to get you a base map to immediately load onto the car once the turbos are installed. Fortunately, if you do decide to wait until after the turbos are on RBs are close enough to stockers that the car will still drive ok.

Awesome. I'll probably buy tomorrow just so I can get it started. I still need to talk to Rob to see if my Turbos have shipped. Looking forward to working with you guys.
