E92 vs ... Alfa?

Although it is not set in stone yet, but likely we are going to see Alfa Brera state-side in 2009. I know it is FWD/AWD, cramped, slow as a hog and has horrendous fuel economy. But look at it! Would you rather have this than an E92 328?

Actually I've seen Alfa's here in Germany. The pic you posted looks terrible, but in black it looks so evil and cool.

That being said, I'd rather have a 328 than that.

We see many around Italy and I know the car well... styling is good, the rest is how you described... incredibly heavy and slow.... terrible fuel economy. The only decent engine is the diesel, that I suppose will never get to the US....
I am Italian, but my advice is: on this comparison, go for the bimmer, unless you do not give a dam about performance figures...

I'm not liking the "squinty" front end and it looks like it would take about 15 minutes for each wheel to get the brake dust off of those rims.

I know what you mean. The black back end does look evil.

But for people who knows the car, is the AWD/V6 really this disappointing? I drove an 159 diesel saloon and it was quite good.

I saw this on the streets, just yesterday, trust me, it looks much worse then it was in concept form, and I would not say it looks good at all. If anything, Alfa GT looks better (but its inferior mechanics wise).
