P053A after catch can install

getting this code after catch can install, should i check if connectors are seated properly? anyone else incurred the same problem?

Think that's the "heater" control circuit. The DDE checks for a closed circuit on the line for the crankcase ventilation heater. I "shorted" that connector to keep this code from happening.

If it is what TDI says check the connectors and make sure everything is seated properly. If it comes up again try the short out method. I haven't received any codes and im close to 1500 miles now with my can.

tried spraying a cleaner, did not help, cleared the code twice still comes on after restarting

the harness consist of 3 connectors, which one did you short? can you remove the top two connectors and route catch can line to the plastic tube?

thanks for the reply,

saw the post but the pic is unclear so i did not know what it meant

what did you put in that connector? lol

i know shorting would be putting a piece of metal such as a paperclip and have the car on, but not running the engine

A little piece of electrical wire with the plastic casing removed on both ends. Then taped over the whole connector end for water intrusion protection.
