Almost done with engine super service

And Im as far as filling new coolant and start bleeding.

But it wont start ....

Key in , pressed start (no foot on break) heat max , fan min.... nada

I used to have a european style waterpump , 4 pins in a row
Now I use the VDO US style from ECS , with rebuilt connector.

Its wired just like on this photo I found in forum.

Are you holding the gas down? I think it takes about 10-15 seconds. Is your battery fully charged/on a charger.

Edit: Also you need to make sure you press the start button until the car is in the "RUN" position lights on dash but not running.

-Key on, engine off, accessories on.
-Heat to 84, lowest fan speed.
-Hold down gas pedal for 15-20 seconds.
-You will hear the water pump initialize and start to pump fluid up to the coolant reservoir, if you are unsure or cannot hear it, you can always open up the coolant reservoir to see the fluid pumping up.

Car has new battery , got unhooked from car last year , put it on charger for 4-6 h before I started with coding new injectors.

Cooding went like a dream with INPA , thanks vasillalov

I had a charger hooked up in engine bay , put key in and pushed start , without pressing brake and starting engine. Then heat on max and fan on min. Pressed the accelerator to the floor for 10-15 sec , and let off.

I will go try one more time , and keep the throttle pressed for 20 sec then let go , see if that changes anything.

My speculations are , does this different style water pump (VDO Continental US style) need some coding , to it or via car or module ?

Or are there some pins in socket that might need to be moved around?

I done the bleed procedure before without any problems.

Wires to water pump :
Brown ----> goes to earth/ground
Red ------>Goes to Positive supply ( relay driven ?)
Purple ---------> Im guessing signal wire to control rpm
Orange---------> Im guessing signal wire to control rpm

What Im asking is pump should start with bleeding procedure activated , the thin wires is just for monitoring rpm ?

Will try a second time tomorrow morning , today its enough...
