Question NCS Expert Profile Settings...Why We Check/Select Certain Options?

A lot of the beginner guides I have been reviewing have been very vague on explaining "why" you are selecting a specific option when creating a new profile. And then some just tell you to go out on the web and try to obtain the profile.

1. Can someone please explain what each check box in the image below means and why it is important to check those boxes. My guess would be it has something to do with remembering your key fob ID or something:

2. Here is the other section I was told to modify. I understand the last check box allows us to use the .MAN file to code/program the ECU located in our NCS Expert WORK folder:
