Need help with paddle upgrade
I have searched and search for a lead or advice to help. I have only seen LCI upgrade to DCT or non-LCI retrofit DIY's. Neither of those have helped since they were not originally equipped with paddles. Basically the paddle that I have modded, works the same as a DCT paddle would.
I have not seen, nor do I have access to see the harness or read resistance from a push pull paddle. I need help making a set of LCI paddles PnP for another forum member whose car is presently in the shop. My understanding is the the push pull paddle have 3 wires on the paddle connector that plug into the MF switches. I know that the wires in pins 1 and 3 go to the paddle. Does the wire in pin 2 go directly to ground? If so, to make the paddle that I have modified the internal ICB, do I just need to add ground wires to pin 2 for it to br PnP. Any assistance would be truly appreciated. Attachment 1001703 Last edited by BMWE934me; 03-31-2014 at 09:47 AM.. |

Still need help!
Here's another diagram. I know hundreds have performed this mod on their car. I'm sure I could do it if I had the car too. But I don't. I'm just trying to do a little extra to help out a fellow member.
After I completed removing the resistor and adding the jumper to the LCI paddle circuit board, I completed what I was tasked to do. Then I figured I would help out the guy I'm doing this for, by making it as PnP as I could. I was going to add ground wires to the Pin 2 slot of the paddle harness, but something tells me that by doing just that, each paddle would send the same pull signal. So now I just need to get confirmation on the ground and advice on what to add in order to send the short to ground signal from the paddle to the correct up or down shift circuit. Any help, even a simple diagram would be great. Thank you Attachment 1002258 Last edited by BMWE934me; 03-15-2015 at 01:11 PM.. |
