2013 Subaru Impreza CVT Transmission

My son just bought one. I drove it. Very well-done tranny, but it would take me a long time to like it regardless of the advantages. Maybe it's 'cuz I am so old, but it just feels like a golf cart or riding mower or scooter. The car goes well enough, but it just feels like a slipping clutch. When I replace my D with a 2015 WRX it'll have to be the manual tranny version.

The CVT in my 2014 Accord is done well as well. I actually don't mind driving around town in it. Highway is a bit different though.

I checked these out when I was considering getting a daily + an m6, and they are great cars. However, I don't think I could take any pleasure in the CVT with the amount of driving I do. I also looked at the Juke which has a slightly sportier feeling CVT.

They are not really putting CVTs in WRXs are they? I would expect DCT in there (if not manual only).

PS. Let me know when you want to check out the cowling once the weather clears. AND If the time does ever come, I have dibs on your parts collection

Only if I start getting nervous about CBU and BMW looks the other way. I am at 22 months and 29k.

1. I think it is a CVT on the WRX.
2. When I get the car back from VAC.
3. A sad thought if it comes to that. I have another very long road trip on the drawing board for this summer. I also want to do another HPDE before summer.

A buddy of mine bought one too and was quite shocked that his car had a CVT instead of an auto! Guess he didn't research that important note nor did his salesman mention it. He loves it though.

And to think he was cross-shopping an A4...

I have a 2014 Subaru Forester 2.0XT with the sport# modes which makes the CVT like an 8 speed trans with paddle shifters. This SUV becomes a WRX with the flip of a switch. Cool Tech....don't replace my BMW though!
