Should I get this PDRed? (Pictures)
So I was in my first accident ever today... Slightly bumped into someones rear bumper (new jeep wrangler) during some slow traffic due to construction
![]() ![]() Thankfully no one was hurt and the jeep was perfectly fine, the driver I hit let me go and said to be careful. But my car did suffer some damages on the tip of the hood. There seems to be a solid circular ding in the middle and two creases beside the ding. I went to a couple different body shops, first shop quoted me 100 and second shop said it can't be PDRed(Paintless Dent Removal) since the hood is aluminum. Both shops said that its not worth fixing and dealerships won't care when I trade in, but I want to get more opinions on the damage. I attached files but they wouldn't upload so here are links to some pictures. https://scontent-a-lax.xx.fbcdn.net/...21699967_n.jpg https://scontent-a-lax.xx.fbcdn.net/...48319290_o.jpg https://scontent-a-lax.xx.fbcdn.net/...79769915_o.jpg https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.n...39642253_o.jpg Not so visible from 6-7ft away: https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.n...12221426_o.jpg Tried to buff the scuffs away by hand: https://scontent-b-lax.xx.fbcdn.net/...84596501_o.jpg Last edited by ocN55; 04-04-2014 at 05:45 PM.. |

Get it fixed. I have a nasty looking thing on my bumper that pains me to see it. Guy quoted me $700+, which at that point I might as well buy a brand new bumper and get it painted. So for $100, get it fixed.

I'd pay to fix it. It would bother me though. Does it bother you?

Hood is Steel not aluminum, avoid the bodyshop that told you that!

Yeah I was wondering about that! thanks a lot for clarifying. He told me that the roof, fenders, and doors are "metal" and could be PDRed but since the hood is aluminum it will only stretch. Thought that was kinda weird. The guy was friendly though and told me not to waste money on fixing it. |

For $100 I would do it without thinking about it as long as their work is good.
