Extended warranty and servicing
Hi guys,
Majorly confused right now. I have a extended warranty policy with BMW (insured warranty) and i'm due a service. I read the policy handbook sent to me by BMW after taking out the policy and discovered I can have my car serviced anywhere as long as servicing is done in accordance with manufacturers recommendations and genuine or equivalent parts are used, see below; So I booked my car in with Darren Wood in Manchester. ![]() However after searching the forums I found that this isn't the case, and servicing must be carried out by a BMW dealer. So I read the policy handbook on the BMW website and found this; ![]() Anybody able to shed some light on this? Before I give them a call I would like to hear some people experiences. Thanks. |

If service was done on schedule using genuine BMW parts/recommended oil by a VAT registered garage and u keep all document relating to the service safety u should be absolutely fine
Darren woods do all of the above and are much much better than stealers, I would not worry

This is the insured warranty which is completely optional to purchase, so the company (Mondial IIRC) are free to set whatever terms they want. Check with them and preferably get the clarification in writing, as ultimately, it will be them who approve or reject a warranty claim. |

I called Mondial around 6 months ago to confirm the servicing requirements and they stated as above. |

Thanks everyone! I can now also confirm main dealer servicing is not necessary and the policy handbook on the BMW site is dated 2011 and has since been updated.

Darren Wood/Birds arguably the top two BMW garages in the UK, good choice. U will be looked after well.
