What is the Best Meth/Water Kit?
I am trying to find a kit that we can use with our D's. I also don't know a whole lot about what to look for in a kit (i.e. correct nozzles, pressures and so on). There are a lot of them out there...Snow, Devils Own, AEM and so on.
So, what is the best way to go about this? I am not that familiar with this engine yet as I haven't had a chance to dig in, but used to get around my TDI pretty well with pics, instructions and advice from others. Your recommendations and direction of where to get the info is greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

I know a couple of guys in this forum used BMS' kit but it's been discontinued. I recall someone using the Snow Performance kit as an alternative but I forgot so you might wanna run a search. I'm planning to run one as soon as my warranty expires.

I had a Snow Performance kit on my TDI. Peak -20 fluid gave around 12hp but the big gains were in lower egt's. Only really ran it on the track...got about 18mpg.
Pretty sure the thumbs down was from a Mustang driver... |

There are a few different options out there for you. Several forum members have pieced together kits that work well. TDIwyse's works off of MAP and Rev if I remember correctly.
I have a modified version of Snow Performance's TDI kit: 2.5g tank, low level sensor, one 125ml/min nozzle, one 500ml/min nozzle, EGT Probe, snow stage III controller, 220psi pump, 2 solenoids, some wire, some meth hose. Originally I was using a 225 nozzle as the mpg nozzle, but I wound up changing it out for a 125 so I could bring it on at a lower psi without quench. TDI is toying with repurposing his abandoned urea tank for water/meth. Currently, I have my tank hidden in the cd changer trunk liner. I retrofitted the controller into the driver-side vent, but you could easily mount on top of the wheel or in any number of other places. I ran the power from the glove to the driver side and to the trunk under the carpet. Power to the engine bay runs from glovebox to the driver side through the steering column (along with EGT probe wiring and vac lines). That said, there at plenty of ways to skin a cat. Check out this thread: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...ow+tdi&page=10 (We can probably continue conversation there to keep the info consolidated if you have any questions) Good luck!

Thanks for the info man. So basically, it seems that, with guidance piecemeal works. I was emailing with a guy who has a Lebonte set up, no tank. Just gotta get the funds together to get it going. I'll be checking out the link and keep the discussion there.

Love that video. Jeff to the op - I use snow performance on my tdi's. It helped us get a world record pikes peak trophy - fasted production diesel (our unique class) up the mountain. the factory vw oem touareg v10's popped turbo's on the mountain without it. |
