2006 e90 - Can I make my Angel Eyes my Daytime Running Lights?
I tried searching the forums and google but couldnt get a solid answer, I found a DIY with some parts off amazon but I would have no idea how to do that...Is there a coding option available?
Thanks. |

As far as I know, coding can only be done if your car is late 2007 or later model. I was also looking for same thing but mine is early 2007 built so I don't think coding will help me. Other option is vista harness, that need 2-3 hours of work if you are comfortable with that.

Yes, I've done it on my '06 330i. I retrofitted a new FRM, got the car coded, and now have daytime AE.

I believe there is a harness you could buy to do it too instead of coding it or splicing a bunch of wires and relays in yourself.
edit: quick search on ebay yielded this. http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-Daeos-Vi...-/400436297566 |

Daeos Vista harness would work.

This might sound stupid or simplistic, but I just turned off my DRLs and when I want to use my AEs for running lights I just switch the lights to the first position. Didn't cost me a dime.
good luck with whatever you decide. |

It's different for Canadian cars. Ministry of transportation says we have to have DRL so BMW stuck the early build E90 with dimmed high beams. Coding won't help unless you upgrade to the FRM that the later models have. I want to do this as well but I have more important mods to spend my tiny budget on lol.
