OEM alarm kit
so i installed my kit. red clown nose blinks when i lock the car.
i know you need to code if for various functions but is the alarm basically working or armed? |

If it's blinking it should be working, but rock the car to trigger the motion sensors, or sit inside absolutely still for about 30-60 seconds and push the unlock button on the dash to see if it triggers the door open warning. Hint: During this time your inside door handles won't work so disarm it first before exiting.

You can roll down the windows, lock the car, wait 30-60 seconds then wave your arms around inside the car. This should set off the ultrasonic sensor you installed in the roof.
I'm pretty sure when I installed my alarm all the hardware worked out of the box, it's the software that needed to be updated. So until you add the option to your VO, the car won't know about the new module. Coding will basically enable the configurable options either in the BC menu or iDrive. |
