Question Remove axle to change ATF oil on 325xi ?

Recently saw a forum member post that in order to change the ATF on an XI model E90, you will need to remove the axle ? Can anyone else confirm this and, if so, I thank the forum member for bringing this to the attention of our XI owners.
I have the 2006 , 325xi, sedan.
