Hi All,

I got new coils last year, raised the car for winter, now threads show signs of rust. anyone know what i can grab to clean the rust off and lube the threads? also what can be used to protect the threads as well. they are h&r coils

I don't know what to clean them with (I cleaned mine with an old toothbrush but they just had light dust/dirt) but once u get em clean, spray the threads with W-40....it's a water repellant.....pretty sure my Ohlins manual specifically recommended that.......mine looked great on my post WD-40 inspection (after couple months) but I also don't drive my car in bad weather much.....

Wire brush with some WD or that may be too abrasive and remove the plating. Try some scotchbrite pads with the WD.
