Stick with 335i or M3 or 2013 S5?

Was 3 weeks away from selling my car and taking over my friend's 1M but then he decided last night that he wanted to keep it instead.
But then... my friend with a 2011 E92 M3 DCT is about to trade in her car

$12.5k including taxes to upgrade to a E92 M3 DCT
$25k incl. taxes to upgrade to a 2013 S5.

or just stick with the n54 and pray that nothing goes wrong.

Not many other choices out there as I have 3 simple needs:
1. Coupe
2. F/I (M3 is an exception... do not want american muscle)
3. 2011+

(911 and GTR is out of my budget, would take the GTR in a heartbeat though.)

Depends.

If the M3 is owned by your lady friend, then I suggest don't unless you are sure she absolutely take cares of her car (Not trying to be sexist, but most of the time unfortunately girls don't maintain their cars as well as guys do). But M3 is definitely a nice "upgrade" to the 335i. Though for the same amout of money spend you can upgrade (in terms of modification) the 335i to be a more beastful car than the M3. However, it still comes down to personal preference, the two car is too different in nature. NA High Rev'ing V8 vs Turbo. I will take the M3 over the S5 if i know that the car is well taken cared of. Better resale value too in the long run.

S5 have better interior, better MPG, better in the icy cold and snow. More subtle and less flashy. Sadly, i will never consider a S5 anymore because the RS5 is so much better in every way and is very affordable ($7x,xxx starting, when the 1st gen S5 was going for $75,000ish based back a couple years ago [that is when it sported the 4.2 V8])

Given the choices, i will go with the M3 or stick with 335i depending on condition of M3. Good luck and have fun! Cheers!

m3>335i>s5 in terms of performance

proof:

I'd upgrade to a m3 if money is not a concern.

$12.5k to upgrade to a M3 seems pretty cheap for a 2011 DCT but you have to think about the fact that I am selling the car for $33k including some mods. (This is also with declaring at a lower price when registering the car.)

The above video is comparing it with the old sluggish V8... the 2013 S5 is way better than the previous N/A V8, it comes with a 3.0L supercharged V6.

It's the same V6 engine that used in the S4 right? S4 is only slightly faster than the 335, and S4 and S5 performs similarly.
So maybe m3>335 and S5 then lol

lol, i agree the Supercharged V6 on the Audi is a fantastic engine. But nothing can replace displacement. Test drive the V8 yourself vs the FI V6 and find out which one you like. If you're looking for performance (tune-able) then the FI V6 will be much better!

But given what you said, m3>335i>s5

Update:

Welp, everyone is deciding to keep their cars so the M3 is also no longer a choice... And the S5 at 25k more seems like an unworthy upgrade just to get a better looking (in my opinion) car.

I get extremely jealous every time I see one of those A5/S5/RS5 slammed on aggressive wheels

Time to spend some money on the 335i

I don't know if Audi fixed their problems yet or not, my friend bought the S4 with the 3L supercharge, which he has to let it go after 3 (out of 6 months ownership) months in dealer, new engine needed, leaking diff, electrical problems, etc.
But I believe our cars are depreciating very quickly that it doesn't go as high as we want.
